Abstract (EN)

An individual is a member of the society where he lives; therefore he is expected to have a healthy and a social interactive pattern. There are specific behavior patterns especially in the interpersonal interactions and relations. On one end of this pattern is shyness, on the other end is aggressiveness and between these two ends is assertiveness behavior pattern.In this study, the relationship between the assertiveness behavior, considered as a positive behavior by the public, and the educational games was examined. The universe of this study was the 2nd level, 7th grade students of an elementary school in Manisa. The participants of the study were determined by using randomized number chart from 4 classes among 170 students. After this determination, 25 students formed the experimental group, 25 students formed the control group of the study. Control group did not perform any educational games. The experimental group was exposed to educational games for 8 weeks. Assertiveness Scale (Topukçu, 1982) was used to collect the data. Statistical analyzes were conducted using Independent -Samples T and Paired -Sample T, Mann Whitney U, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Tests, and level of significance was accepted at (p<0,05). In this study, it was found that educational games have positive effects on the assertiveness behavior of the 2nd level elementary students.Key Words: Educational Games, Assertiveness and Adolescence Period
