Abstract (EN)

This study was prepared for the purpose of determining the roles of the primaryschool teachers in the development of the democratic attitudes and behaviours of thestudents and making evaluation on this matter. The medium and samples of the studyare composed of the classroom teachers and branch teachers that carry out duties in alloff the state primary schools in Istanbul, Umraniye district. In this study which is in ascientific nature, the opinions of the teachers that have participated in the study wererequested and a survey was developed for thisThe frequencies and percentages are used in the data analysis. The fundamentalsummary statistics were obtained and the findings were eveluated. Relationshipsbetween the veriables such as age, sex, profesyonel precedence, marital status, place ofbirth and other variables was tabled by means of the cross tabling and square testanalysis technique and appearing findings were evaluated properlyIn the consequences of the analysis performed the teachers that carry out dutiesin the primary state schools should not undervalue the fact that democracy is anexperienced process other than the explained one in the process of democracy.
