The levels of becoming a reality of the basketball targeted behaviours and general purposes of primary school physcial education lesson

IIIABSTRACTAt the problem part of this research, it has been tried to establish the levelof fulfilment of main goals of physical training lessons of primary schools and thetarget behaviours determined for the basketball education. In the physical traininglessons in syllabuses,the curent situation of the basketball education and what arethe problems encountered in the provision of basketball education werestudied.And also the importance of spore and physical training and the place theyhold in education was designated.In primary schools,to analyse the dispersion ofthoughts of physical training teachers and students in accordance with the basicgoals of physical training lessons in the curricula constitutes the main aims ofthese studies.While the general center of the studies is the primary schools in ANKARAprimary schools in YENİMAHALLE, MAMAK, ÇANKAYA and KEÇİÖRENdistricts constitutes the application center.Examplary group of the studies is madeup of 240 students 13 physical training teachers.The answers given to thequestions directed at students and teachers were set in a table,their percentage andfreqencies were calculated and the findings were interpreted at the bottom of thetable.At the first part of the survey,according to the answers given to the 13-questions these results appear: while the students think that these goals realize theteachers think that they are fulfilled. At the second part,according to the answersgiven to the 20-qestions-concerning basketball, it is concluded that while thestudents think that such behaviours as basketball know-how, being able to bewillingful to play basketball and fair playing are acquired,teachers think that theyare made to be acquired. Whereas the students state that target be havioursconcerning to developing coordination are?nt acquired, teachers are in the ideathat these behaviours are?nt made to be acquired. According to the answers givento the 15 questions asked at the third part of the survey concerning to theIVoperation of physical trainig lessons and other issues, it is conluded that studentsteachers state their oppinion as follows: coordination features are developed,shared level in the operation of lessons are taken into account and appropriatebasketball techniques that fit the levels are employed…According to the answers given to the questions whether the physicalconditions and other factors in their school are sufficient enough to fulfil the maingoals of physical training lessons and specific goals set up for the basketballeducation, both student and teachers agreed that time allocated to the physicaltraining lessons in their school is insufficient and the school management isindifferent to physical training lessons.In order to be able to make the basketball educaton more succesfull inprimary schools, the time allocated for physical training lessons may be increasedand the teachers may be promoted to be more carefull in providing the repetitionof the target behaviours and rendering of feedback-proofreadings. Offering intraservice training courses and providing teacher participation in these courses toincrease the level of knowledge, a rise in the acquisition of target behaviours may-be achieved. Also, by introducing a new student-oriented curriculum concerningphysical training and basketball education, an increase in achievements andexpectations may be attained…
