Abstract (EN)
This study is done for determining the teaching methods that physical education teachers at primary schools use and the problems they encounter while they carry out these methods. Also, this study is a descriptive study in literature review. Study population of this research is composed by 106 physical education teachers who work at primary schools in Sahinbey and Sehitkamil central towns of Gaziantep city in 2006-2007. The data of the research is summed up by questionnaire form developed by Ünlü(2005). The data which were obtained with data collection method have been analysed using frequency (f), percent (%), arithmetic average ( ? ), standart to resort (SS), Mann Whitney U and Kruskall Wallis H-Test. The results of analysis have been commented by getting use of SPSS 15.0 ( Statistical Package for Social Sciences 15.0). As a result of the analyses, these symptoms are reached: In the event of teachers? using teaching methods, during physical education courses, the most preferred method is demonstration; the least preferred method is Teaching Method by the help of Media. According to teacher opinions, students? the most preferred teaching method is demonstration, the least preferred method is Evaluation method. While the teachers? getting the best result from teaching method is demonstration, Teaching Method by the help of Media is the least preferred teaching method. On the condition of teachers? professional seniority, while a meaningful difference between using teaching methods and students? the least and the most preferred teaching method is not found, there is a meaningful difference between the method which the teachers think that they get the best result and Professional seniority. According to this result; teachers whose professional seniority is 6-10 years point out that they get better results by using orientated discovery method. Physical Education Teachers whose proffessional seniority is 11-15 years point out that they get better results by using evaluation method. There is a meaningful difference between demonstration method and the other teaching methods. Physical education teachers who take in-service education and seminars think that they get the best result from the other teaching methods. As a result of this; physical education teachers who don?t take in-service education course and seminars use demonstration method and get beter results than the teachers who take in-service education course and seminars.
