The role of organizational cynicism and organizational spirituality on organizational commitment in primary education

The aim of this study was to determine the role of teachers' perceptions of organizational cynicism and organizational spirituality on organizational commitment levels in primary education. The sample of the study consists of 417 teachers working in public schools in Rize. Correlational screening model was used in the research. As a result of the study, significant difference was found between organizational cynicism and age, tenure and school level variables. Teachers in the 21-30 age group have higher perceptions of organizational cynicism. However, it was seen that the organizational cynicism level of the teachers working in the middle schools was higher than the teachers' in the elementary schools. The perception of organizational spirituality is higher in women. According to the another result, organizational commitment of elementary school teachers was higher than the teachers' in middle schools. 55% of the change in organizational commitment levels of teachers working in primary education can be explained by organizational cynicism and organizational spirituality. While the relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational commitment is moderately negative, there is a moderate and positive relationship between organizational spirituality and organizational commitment.
