Abstract (EN)

This study is a field research, consists of 5 main chapters includingIntroduction, Related Publications and Researches, Method, Findings andInterpretation, Conclusion and Suggestions.The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of role-playing method andlecture method on the performance of the students in the ?Turkish RepublicRevolution History? in the 8th grade at the elemantary schools. And also thefollowing questions will be answered.?Is the role-playing method more effective than the lecture method for teachingTurkish Republic Revolution History? of the 8th grade,a. at the level of knowledge,b. at the level of understanding,c. at the level of practise level,d. at the level of total student performance??First of all, to answer the above-mentioned questions with sub-questions, therelated publications and researches, made at home and abroad were searched.The unit ?Türk İnkılabı? from the ?Turkish Republic Revolution History?curriculum of the 8th grade was chosen and a test was prepared according to the unit.The pre-test was given to the experiment and control groups. Later on, the unit wasperformed according to the role-playing method and lecture method. After that, thepast-test was given to the groups.The sample of this research consists of 60 students at the 8/A (30) and 8/B (30)classes at the Halim ŞAŞMAZ Elemantary School in Ankara, Altındağ. Thestatistical process of the evaluation means with its validity and reliability wasrealised.As a conclusion, the teaching of ?Turkish Republic Revolution History? of the8th grade with role-playing method is more effective than those with the lecturemethod.
