The opinions of teachers on asking the ideas of students about the evaluation of performance areas of the primary and secondary school teachers

Ill ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to declare the opinions of teachers on asking the ideas of students on teacher's performance. In this study, the target is to clarify the evaluation level of class and branch teachers of primary and secondary school about taking the opinions of students on the evaluation of teacher's performance which is one of the multi unit databases. In this study, the opinions of the teachers are analized according to their genders, assignments, the classes they teach, years to teach, school of graduation of the teachers. The study group of the research is the 127 teachers assigned in 9 primary schools in Ankara-Kazan during 2003/2004 education period. As a means of data convention, TPAI and forms of evaluating teacher's performance prepared by EARGED are used. T-test and variance analises are used for the statisticional analises of the data take from Hie surveys. hi this symptoms, me general opinions of teachers on asking the ideas of students about the evaluation of performance areas of the primary and secondary school teachers is "evaluation is suitable" for all performance areas; when studied according to the genders of teachers, there seemed to be affirmitive differences in "The Management of Student's Behaviors", "Presentation of Teaching", "The Follow up of Student's Performances and Teaching" and "The Supply of Feedback" in the side of female teachers but there have not seen such a difference in "The Usage of Teaching Time", "Making Teaching Easier" and "Communication in The Teaching Enviroment". There seemed to be purposeful differences in "The Presentation of Teaching" and "The Supply of Feedback" where as there have not seen such differences in "The usage of Teaching Time", "The Management of Student's Behaviours", "The Follow up of Student's Performance and Teaching", "Communication in the Teaching Enviroment" and "Making Teaching Easier". No significant difference is determined in the teachers' opinions of these topics about the suitability level of asking the ideas of students on the evaluation ofIV performance areas of teachers; according to the assignments, years to teach and the schools of graduation.
