Evaluation of primary school?s principals`performance in management process by themselves and teacher

The purpose of this research is to examine how the performance of the principal?s of primary schools? performance in management process is evaluated by themselves and teachers. The research contains 5 chapters as follows; introduction, concerned literature, method, diagnosis and comments.The region of the research, which uses scanning model, is 25 school principals and 937 teachers working in 25 schools in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul in 2007-2008 education academic year. The sample of the research is 10 school principals and 192 teachers randomly picked up from state schools in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul in 2007-2008 education academic year.As the data is analyzed parametric analysis techniques, non-parametric techniques, stand-alone group t test, one way variance analysis (Anova), post-hoc Sheffe test, non-parametric Kruskall Wallis-H test, non-parametric Mann Whitney-U test, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis were used and semantics were tested on 0,05 level.In the research, as women teachers find school principals successful in management processes, associate degree graduated and 21 years and over working teachers find school principals successful in management process besides decision, 5 years and lower working teachers find them successful in organization and communication and teachers who work with the principals 6 years and over find them successful only in planning process.As the principals evaluate themselves, they assert that educational status and seniority doesn?t affect their performances in management but male principals find them more successful than female principals in decision process.
