Elementary school administrators' knowledge management competences

Purpose of this study is to determine opinions of the elementary school administrators and teachers who have been serving in the Province of Bolu in regard with attendant administrators? knowledge management roles in the elementary schools.It has been carried out with research ? screening model. The elementary school administrators and elementary school teachers serving in the Province of Bolu in 2007 - 2008 education semester have constituted the research?s phase. A likert type `?Knowledge Management Scale?? that has been developed by Çınar (2002) for the research has been used by obtaining a permission from him. Concerned tables have been created and interpreted by calculating frequency, percentage and averages of responses that have been given by the administrators and teachers to questionnaire questions and performing necessary tests in regard with them.According to the results of research, elementary school teachers perceive elementary school administrators adequate at medium level indimension of obtaining knowledge and at top level in dimension of sharing, using and storage of knowledge and elementary school administrators perceive themselves adequate at top level in all lower dimensions of knowledge management. It has been seen that there is a significant difference in all of lower dimensions of knowledge management between the opinions of elementary school teachers and elementary school administrators. It has been concluded that there is a significant difference among the opinions of elementary school teachers according to the seniority variance and that there isn't a significant difference according to the variances of branch and age and that there is no significant difference among the opinions of elementary school administrators according to the variance of seniority, branch and age.
