Folklore elements in selected story books at primary school level

This work; Folklore in the books of Dede Korkut Stories, Stories from Pre-Republican Writers to Children, which were previously included in the 100 Basic Works and are now among the 1000 Basic Works. It was prepared to identify and evaluate the elements. It was aimed to determine whether folklore elements were included in the stories in question, to what extent the folklore elements were kept alive through these stories, and to emphasize the importance of acquainting primary school children with their traditions and customs and protecting their values. Although many studies have been carried out in the field of folklore, it has been observed that folklore elements have not been studied in the stories of Turkish writers, which were previously included in the 1000 Basic Works at the primary education level, and that there are not many studies on the use of folklore in the field of education. Based on this deficiency, the study aimed to determine the folklore elements in the story books of Turkish writers before and after Islam and during the Republican Period, to what extent these elements affected social life, and to accurately convey the values of society's culture to primary school children.
