Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is the assessment of the constructivist approach using the teaching programme, called seveth grade Social Studies in primary education, prepared by The Council of Instruction and Civility, The Ministery of Education with the desicion, date 30.06.2005 and number 188 via the thoughts of teachers. The thoughts of teachers were obtained by questionnaire.The datas of this study were obtained by 150 teachers of Social Studies who are working at the 78 primary schools located in the anatolian part of İstanbul, Tuzla, Pendik and Kartal, in 2007-2008 education year.The data acquisition instrument used in research consists of eight questions about personal informations and 52 questions about the acquisition, content, education process and evaluation dimensions of Social Studies Programme. Also, it consists of 7 questions about future. Datas were analysed by some features like sexuality, assignation, seniority, academic background, and the faculty that was graduated from. In analysing datas, mean, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and cross tabulation analyze were used. According to the results, teachers attended the research supported the programme generally.Keywords: Constructivist Approach, Teaching of Social Studies.
