Abstract (EN)

This research consisted of investigations about the types of narrative texts found in the primary school Turkish textbook. In our research, first of all, previous researches on the subject were examined. The research to be carried out by document analysis method in qualitative design is descriptive. In our research, textbooks were examined in depth and it was investigated whether they were prepared in accordance with the 2019 Turkish Curriculum. In addition, all texts in primary school textbooks are divided according to their type. The types of narrative texts were examined within themselves and their proportional distributions were determined. Values hidden in the texts were removed and it was investigated in which text types the values were given more place. It was determined at what rate and how many times the root values determined in the curriculum were used. The distribution in text types is given in detail. In value transfer, it was investigated whether balance was achieved or not. It was determined that the distribution in the text types was not suitable for the curriculum. There was a disproportion in the transfer and distribution of values. It has been determined that some values are used little or not at all. Although the text types and narrative texts in value transfer are more dominant in the book, it is a fact that they are not written in accordance with the curriculum. In addition, it has been determined that there is no diversity in the type of narrative text, and some genres are not used at all. For this reason, the creation of a rich content in the books was prevented. It has been observed that compulsory themes are used in all grade levels, while optional themes have been changed. There is disproportion in text types across themes and throughout the book. It is understood that texts from the past years are frequently used in the selection of texts, up-to-dateness is ignored, and the choices are disproportionate. Key Words: Turkish teaching program, Turkish textbook, text, type, theme, value
