Abstract (EN)
Images, beyond their visual appearance, are representations that mimic the intellectual and generate associations. Through the associations they create, they respond to questions about where humans come from, where they are going, and who they are. Drawing strength from the concept of "elsewhere" in cinema, this thesis investigates how pictorial images can leave a mark on the human mind. The central subject of the thesis is to explore the context and nature of the connection between a person and an artwork, in combination with the form and the content it presents. The knowledge and reason based bond, beginning with the image itself and extending through the content it creates and the new meanings it generates, is examined in terms of its appearance in the viewer. The way in which the image maintains its place in the mind, even after distancing from the art object, is explored through the concept in cinema. This thesis, which brings together pictorial image and cinema, also attempts to offer a fresh perspective on the interpretation of images and the form-content relationship.
