Educated at İnas Sanayi-i Nefise School contemporary Turkish painting by pioneering women artists contributions to art; The example of Fahrelnissa Zeid

In this research, it is aimed to reveal the place and importance of women painters, who have an important role in contemporary Turkish painting, in an objective and scientific way. Although some female artists who received education at İnas Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi, where many artists were trained, determined their path in their own fields, it was observed that they remained in the shadow of male artists. In this respect, this research was important. In the research we focused on İnas Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi, the lives, works and struggles of our female painters to produce art were touched upon, and some of the female artists who studied at this school were included because they were considered the first and pioneers in their fields. Fahrelnissa Zeid, who started her art education at İnas Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi during the Ottoman Empire, attracted attention by focusing on abstract painting, especially during the modernization process of Turkish painting during the Republican Era. Fahrelnissa Zeid, who made a name for herself with the exhibitions she opened in many cities around the world, is chronologically reflected in her understanding of art, her pursuits, her evolution into abstract painting, and her life, which is in parallel with her art. In this regard, his contributions to contemporary Turkish painting art are mentioned.
