It examines the global issuesand values in education through Content Based Language Instruction (CBLI),considering the new approaches and preferences brought to ELT classroom by CommonEuropean Framework (CEF) and aims to increase teachers? awareness of critical globalissues that would lead to an appreciation for the interdependency among nations andraise tolerance levels for differences in others. It also looks for the differences betweenthe beliefs and attitudes on global education, global issues and global values of EFLteachers in Turkey and Greece.The study was conducted with 181 EFL teachers representing Turkey andGreece. 109 of the participants were Turkish high school EFL teachers representingdifferent parts of the country and 79 of the participants were from Athens, Greece.Through a questionnaire and interviews with 16 EFL teachers, the data were collectedand analyzed by means of casual-comperative and t-test values calculated on SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Science).Key Words: Content-Based Language Instruction, Common European Framework,Global Education, Global Issues, Global Values
