Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it was aimed to determine the relationship between Th1/Th2 polarization and Suppressor of Cytokine Signalling (SOCS) 3, which are important indicators of humoral and cellular immune system activity, and postpartum (pp) diseases in cows. In the study, 180 cows (90 normal delivery (ND) and 90 difficult delivery (DD)) were used as material and blood samples were taken from cows for once at the time of delivery. Cows with normal delivery are without any pp problem (ND (-) (n=45)) and with pp problem (ND (+) (n=45)); Similarly, cows that gave delivery with difficulty were divided into two subgroups as no PP problems (ND (-) (n=45)) and those with pp problem (DD (+) (n=45)). Cytokine analyzes were performed using species-specific commercial ELISA kits. While serum IFN-γ level was found to be higher in the ND (-) group than in the other groups (P<0.001), there was no statistical difference between ND (-) and DD (-), but the difference between ND (+) and DD (+) groups was significant. was found to be of significant importance. In serum SOCS3 level, it was observed that the ND (-) group showed a statistically significant difference with the DD (+) group, but there was no difference between them and the DD (-) group cows (P>0.05). As a result, in the Th1/Th2 polarization results between the groups, IFN-γ, TNF-α and IL-2 levels were found to be higher in the ND (-) group than in the other groups. Accordingly, it was concluded that the polarization balance in the ND (-) group was in the direction of Th1 and that cellular immunity should be supported.
