Employing feminist film theory and analyzing themes from existentialist and absurdist philosophy, the study examines how Bergman portrays female characters grappling with isolation, the search for meaning, and the precariousness of existence. This analysis, informed by the works of Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, and Simone de Beauvoir, illuminates the existential and absurdist dimensions of the female experience as depicted through Bergman's lens.
