Abstract (EN)

In this study, the opinions of teacher candidates studying at İnönü University Faculty of Education about the Instructional Technologies course, which is taught with real educational materials, were examined descriptively. Today, the use of concrete materials in teaching environments makes it easier for students to make sense of abstract concepts and encourages their active participation in the learning process. In this direction, the research conducted on the basis of the constructivist learning approach aims to reveal the attitudes of pre-service teachers towards these materials and their perceptions towards the learning process. The research was designed within the scope of the descriptive survey model and was carried out using a quantitatively weighted mixed method. Data; demographic information form, 33-item "Attitude Scale Towards Instructional Technologies and Material Design Course" and an open-ended question were obtained with data collection tools. The participant group consists of 366 teacher candidates who took the Instructional Technologies course in the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. The quantitative data obtained were obtained with the IBM SPSS 27 package program; qualitative data were evaluated by content analysis method. According to the results of the research, pre-service teachers generally find the Instructional Technologies course, which is taught with real educational materials, positive and useful. Participants' perceptions of the professional contributions of the course are high; however, their liking levels are at a medium level and their denial levels are low. Significant differences were found in some sub-dimensions according to gender, age and department variables. In addition, the findings obtained from the open-ended question revealed that a significant part of the materials that remained in the minds of the students consisted of real educational materials. This shows that real educational materials are effective tools that leave a mark on the teaching process and support learning. The findings obtained in the research are expected to contribute to the material selection and course design processes within the scope of the Instructional Technologies course and to guide the practices that will support the professional development of teacher candidates.
