Abstract (EN)

A project is a planned undertaking of related activities to reach an objectivethat has time and resource constraints. Although all projects have somecommon properties, construction projects differ from others. External factorsplay a great role on construction projects so risk and uncertainty are high onthese projects. Construction project managers must evaluate differentalternatives of technology, workmen and equipment. They also must considerweather conditions, loss of supplies, issues of workmen, unknown undergroundconditions and incorrect time and cost estimations. Projects were small in thepast that a manager could manage all the details with his knowledge andexperience but neccessities have increased and building techniques havedeveloped with time. As a result more complex projects have occured. Afterthis process, controling the details have become difficult for project managersand it has been a necessity to use project management techniques. In this study,a Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant project which has being constructed foryears, has been programmed by using PERT and CPM techniques. Theprogramme which gives the best result has been choosen from differentalternatives and a new programme has been formed for the activities that havebeen incomplete.viScience Code : 810Key Words : Project Management, Construction, Programming TechniquesPage Number : 135Adviser : Prof. Dr. Berna DENGİZ
