Abstract (EN)

This study focuses on the subjects of man's search of meaning and happiness, Logotherapy and search of meaning, Logotherapy and theology; and the role of faith and religion in the search of ultimate meaning. It examines the arguments regarding meaninglessness and man's search of meaning, unhappiness and search of happiness and explanations have been brought about the structural qualities of the phenomena of meaning-meaninglessness and happiness-unhappiness. Answers to man's search of meaning provided by Logotherapy and its views on theology are discussed. The role of belief in God, religious belief and belief in eternal life are examined with respect to the man's search of meaning and ultimate meaning. It is determined that Logotherapy, as a school of psychotherapy, contributes to man's search of meaning via the techniques and answers it provides. As a result, it is concluded that belief in God, religious belief and belief in eternal life guide and support the believers in their search of meaning and ultimate meaning, by providing an ultimate worldview and lasting answers.
