Abstract (EN)
This thesis investigates the Instability of peace in the horn of Africa, a region defined by a complex interaction of political, social, and economic factors. The horn of Africa regions faces significant challenges of conflict and instability, making it one of the most unstable regions. The region is currently experiencing high levels of political violence and instability, from the civil conflicts in Sudan and Ethiopia, to militia and Islamist militant activity in Kenya, to the Al-Shabaab insurgency in Somalia. The primary purpose of this research is to identify the root causes of peace instability in the horn of Africa, addressing key research question concerning strategies for managing and resolving conflicts in the region. This study methodology uses a qualitative analytical approach. The research begins with an examination of the historical context of the states in the horn of Africa, with a particular focus on their geopolitical positioning. The second part of the thesis focus on the concepts of conflict, peace studies, and international security, examining the trajectory of various causes of conflict and the collapse of state structures in the horn of Africa. Additionally, the study addresses the ongoing humanitarian crises affecting the region. The thesis concluded that addressing the instability in the horn of Africa requires the commitment of peace and reconciliation among regional actors and the international community for the goal of establishing sovereign states and promote democratic governance.
