Abstract (EN)

Our study was conducted on 150 patients aged 18-80 years in order to examine the effectiveness of ORI monitoring on the evaluation of oxygenation in patient groups with different levels of consciousness who underwent intracranial surgery at the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of Trakya University Faculty of Medicine. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to their preoperative Glasgow Coma Scores being between 9- 12 and 13-15. Preoperative demographic and clinical information were recorded from patient files, and the patient's heart rate, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, peripheral oxygen saturation, ORI, PVI monitoring values and intraoperative blood gas analysis pH, PaO2, PaCO2, HCO3, BE values were recorded at different intervals in the per, intra and postoperative periods. After extubation, Glasgow Coma Score and VAS score for pain assessment were performed in the recovery room or intensive care unit. In our study, it was found that ORI and SpO2 values were higher in Group II patients at all measured times except aneurysm clamping, and PaO2 values were higher in Group I patients at all measured times, and hemodynamic parameters and PVI values were similar at all times. It was found that there was a moderately significant linear relationship between GCS values and ORI, SPO2 and PaO2 values at all times except aneurysm clipping. At the end of our 54 study, ORI, SpO2 and PaO2 levels were found to be significantly lower in the patient group with GCS 9-12 at all times compared to the patient group with GCS 12-15, and this was in line with our expectations. As a result, at the end of our study, ORI, SpO2 and PaO2 were found to be significantly lower in the patient group with low GCS than in the patient group with high GCS at all times.
