Abstract (EN)
The term carbon footprint, as a result of the increasing awareness of global warming, a term that has become very popular recently. Most of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, although there are naturally in nature, a result of industrial processes increased with industrialization, human activities cause significant of these gases into the atmosphere. Wastewater treatment plants are recognized as one of the great contributors of GHG emissions. The scope of this thesis is examining the effect of wastewater treatment plants and especially sludge treatment and disposal methods on the carbon footprint. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the carbon footprint of different sludge treatment and disposal methods.
