Abstract (EN)
While the lubricants industry has been focused over the last century on development and production of lubricating oils and greases using mineral oils as the base, a number of factors have been considered for the development of products derived from renewable harvestable resources such as vegetable oils and esters produced from them.In this work, the effects of new bio-based oil additives on mineral base oil quality were evaluated; in addition improvement of the conventional oil properties by blending with bio-based oil (Jojoba) was investigated. A Timken Test Device was designed and manufactured according to ASTM D2782 in order to determine out variation of the oil blends? viscosity values. The viscosity values of oil blends were determined with and without jojoba addition and they were compared with each other.Key Words: Mineral Based Oils, Jojoba Oil, Timken Test Device, Lubricant Properties
