Abstract (EN)
In this study, it has been aimed to investigate whether religious officials within the Presidency of Religious Affairs use their emotional intelligence, to examine the effects of emotional intelligence on their professions, the relationship between emotional intelligence and the professional competencies of Religious officials, and whether Emotional Intelligence contributes positively to the life and profession of Religious officials while doing their profession. This study is a descriptive study in relational screening model. The universe of the study is Imam-Hatipler and Muezzin Trustees, who work in the Presidency of Religious Affairs in Istanbul in 2019. The sample of the research consists of 306 Imam Hatip and Muezzin-Trustees who were selected randomly, who attended monthly regular meetings held in Zeytinburnu, Fatih, Beşiktaş, Üsküdar and Bakırköy districts of Istanbul and the mufti of these districts. While selecting these districts among 39 districts of Istanbul, they were selected considering that there are mosques (A, B, C and D group mosques) from each group. In the study, Personal Information, Competence, Emotional Intelligence and Life Satisfaction Questionnaires were used and SPSS 22.0 data analysis was used. According to the results obtained; a significant difference has beeb found in terms of the total score of the professional field knowledge and skills sub-dimension and the professional competence scale. In addition, it has been seen that there has been a significant difference only in the life satisfaction scale according to the mosque group served. Also, according to the age of the participants, there has been a significant difference only in the professional field knowledge and skills sub-dimension. There was no significant difference in the emotional intelligence scale according to the reason for choosing the profession, and the life satisfaction average of those who has been married from the participants was higher than the average of the singles.
