Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, a priority queue based new transport layer protocol (Priority Queue - Stream Control Transmission Protocol - PQ-SCTP) has been developed for IPTV applications. The protocol defines the priority to data packets and depending on the priority receiver queue is sorted. Experiments on protocol was performed using the simulation tool Network Simulator (ns-2). The simulation results are compared with the SCTP protocol for different queue sizes and in performance criteria like queuing delay, delay variation and jitter. For the developed protocol better results have been achieved.
