Abstract (EN)
It is known that transmission and distribution costs are more effective than other factors in the design cost of water distribution systems. In this master's thesis study, the pipe diameters of the pressurized transmission line and gravity transmission line of the group water tank in Solmaz neighborhood of Tavas district of Denizli province were redesigned. The part from the source to the group water tank is the pressurized line. Water transmission is provided by gravity from the Solmaz group tank to the own water tanks of 5 villages and to 2 villages without a tank (direct). Available pressurized and gravity transmission lines have been drawn in the Epanet program. Current node pressures and pipe velocities were calculated. The cost of the pressurized transmission line according to pipe diameter, investment cost and annual electricity cost according to pump head; The current cost of the gravity transmission line was calculated according to the pipe diameter. The pressurized line was redesigned using the Bresse empirical formula in the İlbank specification and the pump head was recalculated and the sum of annual electricity costs, pipe diameter costs and investment costs was found. The total costs of the redesigned elevated line were found to be more economical. The same diameters were found when optimization was performed with the genetic algorithm. The pressurized line was designed again in Epanet with new diameters and the new pipe velocity and nodal pressure values were found again. In the gravity transmission line, first the village entrance pressure heights of 7 villages were calculated and found. Appropriate pressure constraints and pipe velocity limits were entered into the Matlab program. The gravity transmission line was redesigned by calling Epanet into the Matlab program and optimizing it with a genetic algorithm. A decrease in pipe diameter cost was found in the gravity transmission line. The resulting new diameters were drawn again with Epanet and new pipe velocities and pressures were found again.
