Abstract (EN)

Our country has an installed capacity of 52 million tons/year of iron and steel production, and with a production of 33.19 million tons in 2016, it has a share of approximately 2,04% in world production. Turkey ranks 8th among the 64 countries that produce steel in the world, while it ranks 2nd among the countries producing steel in Europe. As a by-product of iron and steel mills during our steel production in our country, approximately 1.7 million tons per year of steel mill (BOF) slag is formed. Because the stock slags cannot find sufficient usage area, most of them are kept in stocks for years in the factory area and cause important environmental and environmental problems for the factories. With the newly opened facilities with increased capacities in recent years, the increase in production quantities and stocking areas are limited and stock slump peaks are waiting to be solved. It has been on the agenda for years to recycle slags emerging as by-products during production and to use them again in other areas. The seasonal freeze-thaw appears in cold climate zone, the shallow foundation soils belonging to civil engineering constructions such as highways, railways and irrigation channels are subject to freezing-thawing under these loads. In this thesis study, Iskenderun Iron and Steel Works Co. (İSDEMİR A.Ş.) steelworks co. slags are %3, %6, %9, %12, %15 and %20 percent rate to Planned mixing with argillaceous soil sample in Hatay in İskenderun. For investigating the effects of freezing-thawing of the argillaceous soil samples; ASTM D 5918, Freezing of aggregates-Solving the test, Determination of resistance to freezing and thawing TS EN 1367-1 and magnesium sulfate test TS EN 1367-2. Graphs and tables have been taken from the test results obtained from these three (three) categories and they have been interpreted extensively. İSDEMİR Steelworks (BOF was seen that the improvement of the clayey soils, in particular, will have a positive effect especially on the mixture of 9% and above of it.
