A review on the poems of Mehmet Sıtkı of İskeçeli

We see that Mehmet Sıtkı of Xanthi, who has a book of poetry and a novel in print, published his literary texts and many of his literary activities in periodicals. Mehmet Sıtkı of Xanthi, who was mostly involved in the field of literature with the genre of poetry, wrote poems mostly with his feelings from his personal experiences in his poetry book published under the name Hüsn ü Melûl. In his poems published in newspapers, he touched upon social issues. It has been determined that there is no academic study on Xanthi Mehmet Sıtkı, who carried out literary activities during his lifetime, played an active role in the periodicals of the period, and spent part of his life in exile. The aim of our study is to contribute to the literature by examining the life of the author, who took place in the history of Turkish literature with his works, ideas and artistic activities, from various perspectives. In the introduction part of the thesis, the political and social atmosphere of the century in which the poet lived is analyzed. In the first part, the life, artistic understanding and poems of İskeçeli Mehmet Sıtkı are discussed in detail. In the second part of the study, his poems are analyzed thematically. In the third part of the study, his poems are analyzed in terms of structure.
