Abstract (EN)

The Ottoman Art creates a category of The Islamic Art in itself. Ottoman Art has also a stylemark in the field of architecture. In this thesis, the motifs used in interior decorations of the mosques and shrınes of 16th century Ottoman Period is discussed. Therefore, Islamic Art is primarily studied. The source of Islamic Art and the motifs of Islamic Architercture is described within the scope of this study. Afterwards, the decorations features of Islamic Architecture is studied. Also, the arcitectural decoration features of Mimar Sinan who is the biggest creator and director of the Ottoman Architecture are emphasized in this study. Finally, the patterns used on decorations of the mosques and shrines in the 16th century are semtinized. Besides of the defined patterns as metarial and technique and forming of that patterns, it is aimed to determine the types and sources of motifs in this study
