Business innovation and managers' individual innovative behavior trends effect on non-financial performance: an application on five star hotels in Ankara

Abstract (EN)
The value of innovation in the global context has increased day by day, and innovation is now seen as the key to progress and development. The most important meaning of the concept of innovation is that it is prerequisite to make a difference whether it is individual or institutional. In recent years, innovation in businesses has caused individual innovativeness to become a necessity.This necessity of innovative individuals to upload significant responsibility on hotel managers. Everyday innovations are seen from senior executives to employees. In order to spread innovation towards business performance the research is designed to determine the impact of business innovation and the hotel business managers' individual innovative behavioral tendency on non-financial business performance. A survey research was conducted on 22 five-star hotels situated in the province of Ankara. The data obtained with the questionnaires were analyzed by SPSS program. One-Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test, factor analysis, T-Test and One Way ANOVA, correlation and regression analyzes were used to test the research hypotheses. The study yielded that managers have positive perceptions on the issues around individual innovative innovation and non-financial business performance. Parallel to the literature, a significant and positive relation was identified between innovation and business performance in this study as well. On the other hand, the positive perceptions of managers are also reflected on the relationship between individual innovative and business performance.
