Determinant of the use of blockchain technology in businesses Kütahya provincial example

In today's increasingly competitive conditions, businesses need new technologies to gain competitive advantage Blockchain technology is one of these technological innovations. Blockchain technology offers businesses the opportunity to gain competitive advantage by providing convenience and advantage in their activities. The aim of this research is to determine the concepts that private sector enterprises emphasize in the technological, organizational and environmental context in the process of adaptation to blockchain technology in the province of Kütahya. In this direction, in the first part of this study, the basic concepts of blockchain technology are discussed. In the second part, the usage areas of the businesses in their commercial activities, as well as the current situation of blockchain technology in other countries and in Turkey are mentioned. In the third part of the study, the definitions of the expressions handled within the framework of Technological, Organizational and Environmental (TOE) factors are given. Case study was used as the method of the research. In the fourth chapter, the interview technique was used as the data collection technique, and the findings and conclusion of the research are included. This study covers 97 enterprises operating in Kütahya Organized Industrial Zone and all technology companies in Kütahya, and interviews were conducted with 48 companies in total. In line with the findings obtained from the participants; 35 sub-dimensions in the technological context, 30 sub-dimensions in the organizational context and 25 sub-dimensions in the environmental context have been reached.
