Abstract (EN)
tt is called inscription that scrapes writing onto tough materials such as marbel, stone, wood and metal by embossing or engraving technique. Meanwhile science of reading inscriptions and explaining their meanings is called as science of inscriptions. Inscriptions include important phenomenons, certain laws, informations about existences of eminent personolities, birth and death dates of them as well as construction dates, architects, craftmen and restorations of historical structures in history. The purpose of inscriptions written is to transfer the desired information to further generations by a permanent method. Inscription can be called as deeds of nations on their regions on which they established their civilisations. Turkish nation, who has one of the richest collections of history on the world, has also remained this kind of footprint on almost every area where he reached, finally, he has established strong and permanent civilisation in Anotolta. The inscriptions of Istanbul Mosques, constructed by Sultans and Mother Sultans, consisting the topic of the thesis, are just a drop of this ocean. Howover, these inscriptions contain valuable information about configuration of dynasty and history of civilisation of Ottoman State which has taken past among the important states in the world history. Although some of this inscriptions has been read before, any proper and systematic study hasn't been prepared yet In this study, certain mistakes and deficiencies exist on early studies have been eliminated and insciptions have been evaluated by viewpoints of language, sense, style, meter, calligraph, aesthetics and techniques as well. Couplets of dating history in their contents have been determined. By comparing the gathered informations with the written sources and documents, cavities exist on datas about science of history can be supplemented.
