Istanbul University Rare Works Library Mecmû'a-i Eş'âr that is registered to TY03735 (Examination-text and classification according to MESTAP)

Poetry collections have an important place in classical Turkish literature. Poetry collections are works created by collecting poems of the same or different poets in a book or a notebook. These works are created by gathering together the poems selected by the compiler in line with his own taste and appreciation. Generally, the compiler and compilation dates are uncertain. Poetry collections are very valuable in terms of containing poets whose names have not been mentioned in tezkires before and unknown poems of poets who have/do not have a divan. With all these features, poetry collections are a source for our literature. The mecmua, which is the subject of our study, is registered in Istanbul University Rare Works Library, number TY03735. The mecmua, which is registered under the title Mecmû‛a-i Eş'âr, is a poetry mecmua consisting of 80 varays. Our study consists of five chapters. In the first chapter; the mecmuas in classical Turkish literature are mentioned. In the second chapter; the introduction of the analyzed mecmu is given. In this section, the description, general characteristics, physical characteristics, the period of the poems in the mecmu and which poets they belong to, etc. were mentioned. In the third section, the transcription alphabet and the latinized version of the text are given. In the fourth section, the MESTAP table is given and this table is organized in accordance with the Systematic Classification of Mecmuas Project (MESTAP), which aims to make a detailed classification and breakdown of all mecmuas, including cönks, especially poetry mecmuas.
