The mediating role of empowerment on reputation management's effect on performance

Abstract (EN)

For organizations; maintaining operations depends on their ability to survive in challenging market. In order for organizations to survive in challenging market conditions, quality of organization's products or organizations's services must be pretty good. But having good quality products or high quality services is not enough for organizations. There is not huge differences on different organization's good or sevices' quality, so that causes target customers consider another issues than quality when they are choosing a products or sevice. One thing that target customers consider on an organization is the reputation of an organization. An organization's reputation is not just important for target customers but for potential employees of the organization. When potential employees tries to decide where to work, they consider the reputation of organizations. Because no one wants to serve in an organization that has bad reputation. Organizations must manage their reputations to get more customers and to work with better qualified employees. Empowerment in an organization also makes potential employees want to work for the organization. Process of empowerment can affect employees' performance in a positive way. In this research following questions are invastigated: When organization's employees perceive their performances, is there any effect of organizational reputation management on this? If there is, is empowerment perceive play a role as a mediator? In order to test the hypothesis of the study, a questionnaire was applied to the personnels of a private hospital in Ankara. Datas from 211 valid questionnaires were transferred to SPSS programme. After transferring datas to the programme, firstly reliability of the research was invastigated and then means were compared. Then all the analysis including correlations and regression analysis were done to find out that hypothesis in the research were confirmed or were rejected. At the end of research all hypothesis were confirmed. Key Words: Reputation Management, Performance, Empowerment
