Abstract (EN)

In this study, Avesi Sheep is a domestic and fat-tailed sheep breed in our country and is raised in Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Hatay, and Mardin regions in the southeast of our country, as well as in Syria, Israel, North African countries and Arab countries. It is a dairy sheep breed that is extremely resistant to hot and arid climate. In this study, it was investigated whether there is an indel mutation in the gene in the receptor of GHRHR (Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone Receptor). For this study, 50 unrelated Awassi Sheeps raised in Şanlıurfa were selected and blood samples were taken. The DNA in this blood sample was isolated and amplified in PCR. It was carried out by agarose gel electrophoresis and its images were examined. The results were evaluated by population genetic parameters. As a result, it has been determined that the Awassi Sheep, in which the Hardy-Weinberg balance is in balance, experienced the natural evolution process. PIC (polymorphic information content) value was found to be limited, but different markers in the same geneIt is extremely important for the studies to be done with Awassi Sheep to be associated with the efficiency of meat, milk, fleece, progeny and fertility for the protection and improvement of the lineage of this breed.
