Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to detect the achievement levels of Elementary Training School principals? roles on teacher motivation regarding teachers? views and to offer some suggestions on basis of this study. This study consists of 244 class and subject teachers who are working at elementary schools in Gaziemir district of Izmir in the educational year of 2005 ? 2006. Data is gathered by the means of ?The Ideas of Teacher Ideas on the Ratings of Elementary Schools? Principals? Motivating Teachers? developed by the researcher. The reliability co-effient of the scale is found as a = 0,9878. The scale which is used in the research consists of two parts. In the first part of the scale the researcher states personal information and gives this information by classification. The researcher gathers data by the items which are specified by the pentagonal Likert. For the resolution of data; the researcher uses percantage, frequency, arithmetical average, standart deviation, (varyans analizi) one way annova, t - test .In all these tests the reseacher accepts value at level a = 0,05. Some conclusions which are obtained from this research are given below: 1- When the primary school teachers? views are evaluated, that teachers think the school principals? teacher motivation activities are performed ?always? and ?usually? means teachers estimate the principals positive. 2- There isn?t significant difference between the teachers views depending on their sexes, ages, graduaded schools. However, the researcher finds a meaningful difference depending on the greatness of the school where they work.
