Abstract (EN)
Objective: This study was carried out to investigate the frequency of Neosporosis in cattle imported from different countries by serological method. Materials and Methods: The research was carried out with (between March 2017 and February 2020) a total of 613 cattle from diffrent farms importing cattle in four districts of İzmir and one district of Aydin province. Blood serums were analyzed by SRS2 Indirect ELISA method and commercial ELISA method. Descriptive statistics ''chi-square'' and ''kappa'' tests were used in the analysis of the data. Results: When the cattle included in the study were examined by SRS2 indirect ELISA method, causative seroprevalence was found in 52 samples (8.5%) in 613 samples, when examined by commercial ELISA method, seroprevalence was found as 4.1% in 25 samples. No statistically significant difference was determined in terms of breed, origin, animal status (cow, heifer) of imported cattle. Conclusion: In this study, it was determined that the seroprevalence of N. caninum in cattle imported to İzmir region was similar to the studies carried out. In line with the results obtained, it would be appropriate to remove the definitively diagnosed animals from the herd for the control of the disease and to require the "NEOSPORA FREE" certificate from the originating enterprises at the entrance of imported breeding animals or to include the N. caninum agent in the test list requested from the imported animals.
