Geology and tectonic features of İzmit-Hereke area

This report was prepared as a Ph.D. thesis in the General Geology Program, Department of Geological Engineering, Graduate School of Science, Istanbul University, between 2016-2023. In this context, a 1/25000 scale geological map, geological cross-sections and the diagrams from measurements on the planar and linear structures developed under the control of tectonics were prepared and paleontological and petrographic studies were carried out. It is aimed to understand the geological and tectonic features of the region and the paleogeographic evolution between the Paleozoic-Paleogene periods.
