Abstract (EN)
Early relationships or experiences between parents and children are of fundamental importance for the child's physical, social and psychological (emotional) development. In other words, the family environment is one of the most important determining factors for the development and life of children. In this sense, children's development of cognitive schemas about themselves, others and life occurs through early experiences with parents. The main purpose of this study is to examine whether the early maladaptive schemas of the parents affect the schemas of their children. In addition, it is to examine whether there is a relationship between individuals' schemas and their parents' parenting styles. The method of the study is the relational screening model. The sample of the study is determined as 135. Three groups were formed as children (n=45), mothers (n=45) and fathers (n=45). In the study, a questionnaire consisting of demographic information, Young Parenting Inventory (YPI) and Young Schema Questionnaire (YSQ) scales is used as a data collection tool. According to the results, there are differences in terms of age, marital status and number of siblings, education status, education of the mother, education of the father, psychological assistance status, profession and gender, having early maladaptive schemas. A significant correlation was observed between parenting styles and schemas. When the studies in the literature are examined, it is seen that similar results are obtained to the study.
