Abstract (EN)
As a result of factors such as population growth, industrialization and technological developments, the demand of energy is increasing and therefore the fossil fuels are widely used to meet this increasing energy demand. However, it is known that serious environmental problems occurs such as global warming as a result of burning fossil fuels. The use of renewable energy sources instead of the fossil fuels will be indispensable in deal with environmental problems and for sustainable future. The aim of this thesis is to comprehensively examine the thermodynamic performance analysis of a real geothermal energy supported combined flash-binary power plant and to emphasize the importance of geothermal energy in multiple generation systems. The proposed system; It consists of a separator, a steam condenser, a steam turbine, three air-cooled condensers, two evaporators, two high pressure heat exchangers, two low pressure heat exchangers, two pumps, a high pressure turbine and a low pressure turbine. In subsystem ORC's, n-butane was studied as the working fluid and compared with different cycle fluids. Thermodynamic analyzes were made with the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) software program in the presence of real data. The effect of parameters affecting system performance such as geothermal inlet temperature, geothermal mass flow rate, isentropic efficiency changes of turbines, ambient temperature and pinch point temperature of evaporators on the energy and exergy efficiency and exergy destruction rate of the whole system was examined in detail and a parametric study was carried out. Also, the exergy destruction rates of the components of the proposed system have been comprehensively calculated. According to the results obtained from the thermodynamic analyzes, the energy, exergy efficiencies and net power generation of the whole system were calculated as 10.33%, 39.03% and 28 024 kW, respectively. The highest exergy destruction rate occurred in heat exchanger-2.
