Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of judo on kinesthetic intelligence and life skills in terms of various variables. The study data were collected in Turkey Juniors Judo Championship. In the study, "Kinesthetic Intelligence Fields Assessment Scale" and "The Effect of Sports on Life Skills Scale" within the "Multiple Intelligence Fields Assessment Scale" were used as data collection tools. The data were analyzed with the Statical Package for Social Sciences program. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and basic descriptive techniques. In addition, the t-test was used to compare the data of two independent groups. According to the findings of the research; the average scores of the athletes practicing judo sport from the life skills scale based on the age variable have a significant effect. The mean scores of judo athletes from the kinesthetic intelligence scale showed a significant difference according to the status of winning international success. The mean scores of the athletes from the kinesthetic intelligence and life skills scale showed a significant difference according to both weekly training hours and weekly training days. Statistically significant relationships were found between participants' kinesthetic intelligence and life skills at a moderate positive level. The kinesthetic intelligence and life skills of the participants who trained 21 hours and 7 days a week improved more than the participants who train 4-20 hours and 3-6 days a week, and this difference is statistically significant. Life skills and kinesthetic intelligence of the participants did not show a statistically significant difference according to gender, height, weight, years of practicing judo, nationality, national achievements, participation in social activities, time spent in virtual environment and in front of TV, parental education level and academic achievement levels. As a result, it can be said that judo sport contributes positively to individuals' kinesthetic intelligence and life skills. In addition, this contribution may vary according to various factors.
