Abstract (EN)

Elemental accumulations in water basins can occur due to the lithological structure of the region as well as andropogenic effects. Lithology-based elemental accumulation and the resulting pollution can be inhibited by natural selection. However, human factor elemental accumulations and the resulting pollution continue to show their negative effects by increasing. Throughout history, people have settled in water basins in order to provide comfortable access to water in general. Accordingly, as a result of vital activities, industry and industrialization, water resources are faced with pollution elements that are irreversible or, at best, will take many years to recover. The study, which is the subject of the thesis, has a quality that evaluates the effects of the human factor in the current situation and the effects of this situation on living things, rather than a routine screening study. For this purpose, a total of 23 points were sampled along the Bolaman stream basin, starting from the downstream of Kabataş district, up to the point where the stream empties into the Black Sea. The samples were then sent to Acme Laboratory in Canada, where elemental analyzes were carried out. Relevant analyzes were performed using reference methods. Sampling points were determined by considering settlements, side streams connecting to Bolaman stream, industrial establishments with discharge to the stream and organized industrial zones. Thus, it is aimed to clearly see the elemental accumulation of the mentioned elements and especially the andropogenic effect along the stream bed. These accumulation amounts were calculated with the calculation methods in the literature, evaluated using statistical methods, and the effects on living things or that they could create were also examined. In addition, it is foreseen that the thesis study can be considered as a reference before the large-scale project planned to be carried out in the Bolaman stream basin. Press releases were made about the project, but no large-scale information was provided. It is thought that ponds for irrigation purposes will be built along the stream basin, energy facilities will be established and rehabilitation works will be carried out.
