Abstract (EN)
The Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878 is one of the most important wars that caused the Ottoman Empire to lose its dominance in the Caucasus region. Millions of Caucasians lost their lives during the war, and thousands of them died either from hunger or disease on the way to emigration. Despite the difficulties experienced during the migration of Caucasians who set out for the Ottoman lands, they eventually reached the Ottoman lands. The Ottoman Empire, which opened its doors to immigrants, settled immigrants in the province of Hudavendigar, as well as in many parts of Anatolia. Due to its proximity to Istanbul, ease of transportation and geographical location, the province is one of the most densely populated places for Caucasian immigrants. The Ottoman Empire provided subsistence, health, shelter and agriculture etc. for the immigrants settled in the Hudâvendiğâr province. provided substantial assistance and opportunities. Not only the state, but also the local people have relieved the burden of the state with the help they have provided to the migrants.
