Abstract (EN)

Although it is not very common in our country, Calligraphy, which has been one of the most important art branches for thousands of years, receives high interest abroad. Due to the lack of knowledge in this branch, I decidedtomake a research on writing art. I studied on the transition process of this art throughout the history, how it developped and teaching techniques. The first writing samples, which later turned to be a means of communication in time, are the drawings on the cave walls. People have always had a tendency to do more beautiful things than the previous ones and find a bettey way of doing something .That's why by the time the writing art develops, the work which is done becomes more aesthetic. Thus, neat writing art, Calligraphy, occured as a result and it become an independent branch of art. Calligraphy ,what is similar to some other art branches, takes on a shape in 'Hat' in Milde East Islamic culture, in 'Latin' in Europe and in 'Chineese' in the Far East . The current letter characteristics which are used in calligraphy are originated from the Roman Time capital letters which were used before the invention of the printing machine. Since the invention of printiyo machine the art of caligraphy has gradually gained importance.
