Kazım Meçi from Karaçay-Malkar of Turkish literature, his life and examples literary works

Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Karaçay-Malkar Turks are an ancient tribe that live in different cities of Turkey and North Caucia. Karaçay-Malkar language is a literary language that is a characterictic of Kıpçak dialect. Some of Language searchers searched on Malkar language, culture and folklore, but Malkar poets, editors and Malkar literary works were not studied enough. In our study, after we had studied on Karaçay-Malkars history, folklore, literary works, language and culture, we studied on the literary life and works of famous Malkar Turkish poet Kâzim Meçi, who lived during 1859-1945 in Caucia, we also gave examples same of his literary works. Kâzim Meçi was born in an old village of Malkar, Şıkı in 1859. When he was a child he was taught reading Quran, tecvit, history, language, astronomy and geography, and also he had a chance of learning civilizations of the Fars and the Arabs, sufistic scientists Mevlana and Yunus Emre, philosophers Farabî and Ibni Sîna. It is understood that he was influenced by Divan(Ottoman) literature poets Nevaî, Fuzulî and Firdevsî. He also declared, in his works "Tahir and Zühre", "Buzcgit" that he was influenced by Divan poets. Kâzim wrote all his writings in Arabic alphabet. In "Tahir and Zühre" he used gazel, kaside and mesnevi for the first time in Malkar literature as in the Arabic, Fars and Turkish" works; more over he first wrote coupletes in his poems in Malkar language. Kâzim Meçi who objected cruelty and injustice in all of his life, that his works where thorn and burnt by Russian people. Only "Iyman Islam" and "Meni Sözüm" were published when he was alive. He died when he was in exale in Cossack country in 1945. A great part of his works have been learned by heard by Malkar people. After his death his works were translated in different languages by Malkar, Russian, Tajik, Uzbek writers.
