Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to analyze the women?s headdresses which taking and important role of Turkish culture. This research has comprised the Black Sea region of Turkey mainly Kastamonu and Amasya. With this research, the models, techniques, used colors and regional characteristics are documented.A survey has been prepared by means of expert opinion and this survey applied to the persons region. The samples that find in museum?s, home?s and daily usage are first illustrated and detailed. The results of this survey are analyzed and interpretted by using percentage distribution and frequency. The results are showed on the tables.Even today?s the women?s headdresses and kerchiefs lost traditional values, some regions stil continue to use them in their life. The arnomental knobs which has geometric desighs and stylised by flowers are presented only in museums. These arnomental knobs are not used now. The edge of kerchiefs are coverted by different embroidery.Documentation of headdresses is important to protect the traditional values and to introduce them to the present and future generations.Keywords : Kastamonu, Amasya, Handcrafts, Women Head Wear.
