Abstract (EN)
In our thesis, IX of the work "Karakalpak folklore". included in its volume and published in Cyrillic alphabet the epic called Er Ziyvar, belonging to Karakalpak Turks, has been focused on. The epic of Er Ziyvar transcribed from Cyrillic alphabet to Latin alphabet, The epic text, which was transcribed in Karakalpak Turkish, was translated into Turkish. Attention was paid to the use and preservation of common words between the two languages during transmission. The motives of the epic tradition in the text are evaluated. The Turkish translation of the text and its original form in Karakalpak Turkish were mutually given, in this way, it was intended to compare the use of two sister languages. Based on the epic text, it is aimed to reveal and introduce some elements such as traditions, customs, forms of life and beliefs as a cultural heritage along with the social and cultural environment reflected in the epic. The study also provided terminological information about the epic, which is an anonymous folk literature genre, classification, and important studies on the epic, as well as information about some important epic narrators. With numerical information about the history, geography and population of Karakalpak Turks, the place and importance of the epic tradition in Karakalpak folklore is emphasized and some studies on Karakalpak literature in Turkey are also aimed to give information about.
