Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the nutritional biology of Emys orbicularis species in order to contribute to the ecology of the species. In Karamuk Lake (Afyon), 24 adult (13♀, 11♂) individuals were captured from 3 stations determined in summer and morphological measurements were made. Afterwards, the gastric nutrient content was examined in the laboratory and hunting groups which the species was fed on were revealed. The results were evaluated by statistical analysis. As a result, when we look at the hunting rates in the gastric ingredients of Emys orbicularis is composed of Gastropoda (N% 0,3%), Insecta (17%), Crustacae (79,21%), plant material (3,15%) it seems. According to the frequence of stomach contents, the most consumed prey items, Insecta (% F = 75%), plant parts (66.67%), Crustacae (29.17%), Gastropoda (12.5%), frog larvae (8%, 33), Oligocheta (4.17%). In addition, the nutrient content of the species are aquatic invertebrates and vertebrates, plants.
