Abstract (EN)
In this research it is aimed to develop a monitoring methodology, the importance of monitoring in park management in case of Karatepe-Aslantaş National Park; one of the most important forest ecosystems of East Mediterranean Region and the primary national parks of Turkey as well.Census of biotic and abiotic parameters, record of them and monitoring approaches of our country and countries of well known in this topic are examined. Suggestions were proposed due to the biological resource values of Karatepe-Aslantaş National Park.As the monitoring is considered to be an important part of management, the role of institutional structure in monitoring issues to conserve the nature, methodological approaches and benefiting from GIS in land management, planning and monitoring were discussed.At the end, for the methodological research approaches for flora, fauna and landuse, systematic proposals are submitted due to the data gathered from the NP.
